The blade of the No.12 is 4-inches long and 1.06-inches wide. Its dimensions and its sharp point ensure accuracy in cutting for large and detailed work alike. It is made from high-quality European stainless steel hardened to a Rockwell Hardness of 55-57, optimized to ensure corrosion resistance and superior performance. This razor-sharp blade holds its edge, even when used with hard materials, ensuring a lifetime of performance.
The grind of the No.12's blade is convex, which minimizes contact between the sides of the blade and the material being cut, prolonging the sharp edge's life. This grind also makes the blade extremely strong and allows Opinel to put a remarkably sharp edge on it.
